Find A Natural Area

The System of Natural Areas contains sites that represent some of the best, and last, remaining examples of the state's original landscape. These special places protect unique natural communities and provide vital habitat for a host of plant and animal species, some of which are considered to be rare, threatened, or endangered. Altogether, these lands make up nearly 80,000 acres across every ecoregion in the state. Find a Natural Area near you!
