I had taught high school art for 22 years, when my father became terminally ill. After his death, I began questioning my spiritual and artistic life. Other than demonstrating, my art, in the classroom, I had never really put any of my tangible creations out for people to judge. Fear that my art wasn't good enough and it wouldn't be accepted...was strong on my mind, at the time. In the same instance, spiritually made me think, I had to produce, as an example, for the children in my life. I wanted my daughter and son, to see me achieving my goals and dreams. I couldn't continue to tell my students, to try unless I started to try. This life changing thinking set in motion an artistic discipline to live a full artistic life; to teach and create. As I took these early steps in my life I began to change. Freedom filled me when I went to the canvas. I began calling myself an artist and not just an art teacher.
