Hey, Arkansas Fine Arts Teachers!  

Get inspired this summer with CommUNITY Arts — a FREE hands-on professional-development series from the Arkansas Arts Council. Only two creative sessions remain, so register now! We help teachers learn, connect and grow together! 

This summer, the Arkansas Arts Council is celebrating teachers and the arts with the CommUNITY Arts professional development series, designed to enlighten, inspire and connect professional educators and artists statewide. In collaboration with the Division of Elementary & Secondary Education, the Arkansas Arts Council is offering all teachers free opportunities for hands-on professional development this summer. If you’re looking for an opportunity to take your creativity to a new level, this is your chance.  

The remaining two sessions will be held in Fayetteville and El Dorado. Here’s a quick description of each session: 

 

JULY 22 - CommUNITY Arts | Theatre, Dance, & Performance Session 

Walton Arts Center, Fayetteville, AR | 8:00 AM – 3:00 PM 

Get ready for movement and exploration. This upcoming performance-based workshop invites you to learn, discover and create new ways of engaging in an academic setting. Whether you’re an experienced theatre arts educator, or just in search of new and fun ways to boost learning in the classroom, this session is for you. Join us at the renowned Walton Performing Arts Center and unleash your creativity. 

 

JULY 25 - CommUNITY Arts | Visual & Fine Arts Session  

South Arkansas Arts Center, El Dorado, AR | 8:30 AM – 3:30 PM 

This professional visual arts workshop will ignite your imagination. Held at the vibrant South Arkansas Arts Center, the session welcomes participants to explore the endless possibilities of visual expression. It's a collaborative experience that will inspire a new artistic discovery in your classroom!  

 

The sessions are free of charge and will be led by teaching artists from our Arts in Education roster. During the sessions, educators will learn more about Arts in Education programming, how teaching artists present engaging curriculum and ways to work within the standards-aligned programming in the classroom using tools and creative methods. Register today!
