Food is such an important component of culture in the Arkansas Delta; therefore, it is only natural to have a contest to recognize the best of three of those dishes, which make this region so unique. Get your taste buds ready! It's that time of the year again, when the Delta Cultural Center sponsors our annual Beans, Greens, and Cornbread Contest for 2026. This year's event will be held on Saturday, April 11, 2026, at the DCC Depot Museum, located at 95 Missouri Street in Helena, Arkansas.

Registration forms may be picked up in the DCC Visitor Center at 141 Cherry Street in Helena. These must be completed and turned back in by 3 p.m. on April 10. Participation is free, but registration is required.

Contestants may enter in one, two or all three categories of beans, greens, and cornbread.

Food needs to be delivered to the DCC Depot Delta Eagle Room, 95 Missouri St, Helena, between 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 11. Entrants should expect to remain with their dishes until 1 p.m., providing samples to judges and visitors. Cups and utensils are provided by the DCC.

Visitors to this event can sample the entries and vote for their choice of the best overall cook.

Winners will be announced at 1 p.m. and entertainment will be provided.
