Jeff Clanton, a member of a musical family, is a longtime fixture on the Arkansas folk and Americana music scene. In addition to his own shows, he has played with a variety of folk, Americana and acoustic groups, touring the USA playing festivals, concert venues, and clubs. Over the years Jeff has shared stages with many well-known popular performers, including his idol Levon Helm. Jeff plays and sings his original songs, as well as selected covers from entertainers like Bob Dylan, Neil Young, and James Taylor. Jeff also loves old-time acoustic blues and Americana tunes, and often includes them in his songlist. In addition to playing and singing, Jeff currently hosts an open mic once a month at the Faulkner County Library.
When Jeff is playing cover songs, his shows frequently become history lessons, since he is very knowledgeable about the stories behind songs and their writers and loves to talk about them. He is an accomplished multi-instrumentalist--depending on the song and the venue. Jeff may play 6-string or 12-string acoustic or electric guitar, mandolin, banjo, dobro, or harmonica, and may be finger-picking, strumming, or playing slide guitar. He always interacts with their audience to provide a highly personalized, entertaining show. The result is the audience leaves with a smile on its face and a song in its heart.
