The Southwest Arkansas Regional Archives (SARA) will host a genealogy workshop on Saturday, May 9, 2026. “Finding Your Early Arkansas and American Ancestors” will be held from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. at SARA, 2-1 Hwy 195, Washington. As part of the nation's 250th anniversary, the workshop will focus on early American genealogy. Participants will hear a presentation from SARA Archivist Melissa Nesbitt about how to start your own genealogy research and how to find early Arkansas and early American ancestors. After the presentation, participants will have opportunity to utilize SARA’s research resources and have individual research assistance from staff.
