To work with Agnolia B. Gay offers an experience that runs the gamut from A to Z.  You will get all that you asked for and much , much, more.  The following are pre-packaged sessions that have been very successful in various learning settings.

1. SHOWTIME IN THE CLASSROOM—This engaging initiative empowers teachers to use drama, or “The Arts,” in any type of classroom setting … History, Science, Math and other subjects. It is a standard expectation that teachers display the work of all students. She proposes showcasing of the actual students, where the students will demonstrate what they have learned and share their learning experiences with their classmates, peers, family and community through performance based assessments.

2. ACTING UP VERSUS ACTING OUT IN THE CLASSROOM—Many times students are “acting up” in the classroom or being disruptive. In this inspiring activity, she demonstrates methods that strengthens teachers ability to intentionally give all students, including the class clown, an opportunity to present, or act out, their ideas that connect with the classroom objective. Using dramatic arts, students take classroom assignments and projects and creatively structure what they have learned in a way that is both enlightening and entertaining through storytelling, skits, and movement.

3. DRAMA IN THE CLASSROOM IS MORE THAN JUST A PLAY—This performance based project covers a wide variety of skills and talents. Drama, as a whole entails, the writer, the actor, the set designer, the artist, the musical director and the choreographer.  Not to forget those who work behind the set. In every type of class; Science, Math, History, English and Foreign Language, the students  can role play and re-enact different aspects of the learning. They will focus on the language, music, time, season, cultural reference, and social issues of that era and make comparisons and connections to real world life lessons; thereby making learning more fun and interesting.  A few other pre-packaged sessions include:

The Laughing Classroom

Classroom Court

Game Time in the Classroom

Utilizing these approaches to learning help both teachers and students to become less frustrated, and stressed , and it fosters a cooperative climate in the classroom where students are not just being lectured to ... but they are actively engaged in the learning process and have specific responsibilities that are important to the success of the learning.
