A squirrel, a dollar bill disappear into "reality" as closer inspection reveals a clump of leaves and a folded piece of colored paper. Marks on canvas become trees and colors become emotions displayed in fleeting waves. Images, the way we perceive mental and physical "realities", are learned and modeled thoughout our lives by our traditions, lifestyle, education, location, experiences, and social background. We trap images and store them within the recesses of our mind where they wait to be flashed before our eyes like a strobe triggered by the senses. My images are "snap shots" of a reality of feeling-moments of sensation and time held in place, not the illusion of an external reality. My works are lines (marks), shapes, spaces, colors, and textures wrapped around my images perceived now and woven over impressions from the past. They are not "things". They simply represent a positive affirmation of being human.
