A native of South Louisiana, Schneider has been painting for more than 40 years and has enjoyed successful careers as an artist, sculptor, gallery owner, graphic designer and restaurateur. His paintings of expansive vistas and iconic still lifes are recognizable by his vibrant colors and energetic brush strokes.
Always a lover of the Ozarks, Steven moved to NWA several years ago and established his art studio in Goshen, AR.
Schneider draws inspiration from the natural world and his paintings range in size from small studies to large studio works. He utilizes plein air (open air) studies, sketches and photography as references for his studio pieces. Steven works to capture the familiar spirit innately found in nature while maintaining a connection to enhanced color relationships and the delicate balance between texture, shadow, and light.
Schneider’s works are held in numerous private and corporate collections, including The Women’s Hospital in Baton Rouge, Belle Alliance Plantation and George’s Corporate Offices in Springdale. He is represented by Greg Thompson Fine Art in Little Rock and his studio in Goshen is open by appointment only. In addition to original paintings, Steven offers various sized archival giclee’ prints on paper or canvas.
Steven is a member of Fenix Artists of Fayetteville, PAPO (Plein Air Painters of the Ozarks) as well as ANA (Artists of NW Arkansas).
