In summary fashion, here’s what I do, what I think.
I create original fine art photographs – signed and numbered in limited editions, framed in archival materials.
The photograph says what size it should be; I do not mass produce them in a variety of sizes.
I occasionally make one-of-a kind works with narrative additions and drawing.
I crop through the lens and rarely make changes in the computer.
I value color, in all its hues and values.
I like to sneak pictures – I don’t like model releases.
I like serial imagery, visual surprises and asymmetry.
Color or b/w — it’s all about light and space.
Occasionally, I think of myself as a painter with a camera.
There’s too much generic art out there.
Robert Frank and Henri Cartier-Bresson are under-appreciated.
Any fool can take a good picture – not every fool knows how or why.
Everyone should know how to draw.
