As an artist, instigator, and community organizer, I find myself more at home these days with collaborative art projects and social crafting. When not feeling a fear of the blank canvas, I tend to be drawn to the process of certain mediums such as working in a dark room, hand cranking an image through a large metal and wood floor model press bed, the smell of printmaking ink, and the meditative motion of carving a wood block, splinters, slipped V-gouge cuts, and all. Synesthesia assemblage and built environments, installations and event coordination all play into my 2D art visual output that is mainly a play with light, patterns, abstraction, and expressionism.
