Juried Artist Directory

 
 

The Juried Artist Directory is an online listing of visual artists who have been recognized through jurors and independent panels for programs and awards through the Arkansas Arts Council. The Directory recognizes and honors artists who are doing extraordinary work in Arkansas and have been highlighted through the Arts Council's services, programs, grants or awards.

Benefits are:

  • The Directory helps enthusiasts and supporters discover the rich variety of visual artists in Arkansas.
  • The Directory highlights, showcases and recognizes visual artists in Small Works on Paper, Governor's Arts Awards, Arkansas Living Treasure, and Individual Artist Fellowship programs.

Artists chosen for the Directory have the opportunity to showcase their artworks on a free platform to help promote and market themselves and their artistic careers. Works can be updated by contacting the artist services manager.

Through drawings and prints I am able to explore creative processes with the freedom to experiment. Graphite pencil, silverpoint and fine art printmaking provide a means to communicate subtle emotional feelings where words are often inadequate. In my work I hope to reveal my subject's personailty held secure behind the facade we see during casual encounters. In my portraits I hope to present the essence and spirit of one's soul. The accepting face of the child and the aged often reminds us of our own innocence and humanity.
