Arts On Tour

The Arts on Tour roster lists a broad spectrum of Arkansas’s finest solo and ensemble performers, individual visual artists and prepared art exhibitions ready for touring within Arkansas. The online AOT listing facilitates the booking process for arts organizations, festival and event planners, schools, civic organizations and government entities interested in contracting with the artists.

The AOT program is designed to reimburse presenters who showcase Arkansas artists listed on the roster. When an AOT artist negotiates a contract with the presenter, the Arkansas Arts Council typically will subsidize 40 percent of the cost of the event as long as funds are available.

New AOT artists are selected each year through a panel process.

The Arts On Tour Artist Roster opens Oct. 15, 2026.

To be eligible for the Arts on Tour Program, a performing or visual artist must:

  • Maintain a primary residency in Arkansas, or must have an Arkansas based contact.
  • Have presented concerts, exhibitions, programs or lecture-demonstrations in locations away from their home location at least twice in the previous year. Exhibitions must have been presented in a formal gallery space.

The Arkansas Arts Council reserves the right to determine the appropriateness of the scope or nature of the presentation proposed by a selected Arts on Tour artist and retains the right to determine the suitability of an AOT artist to remain on the roster once they have been selected.

Arts on Tour Artist Roster application forms should be submitted online by completing the form linked below. You will receive an email confirmation when we have received your online submission.

The classical duo ArMusica was started in 2012 with violinist Andrew Irvin and pianist Julie Cheek. Even though the performers are established soloists in their own right, they decided to form a chamber ensemble for two or more players to showcase concert repertoire that is less well known. Programs can include duos that feature either violin or piano with other instruments, as well as piano trios, quartets, or larger ensembles performing such music as Schubert’s Trout Quintet.

Violinist Andrew Irvin has a broad range of concert experience throughout North America and Europe. Solo appearances include performances of works by Tchaikovsky, Paganini, Bruch, Vivaldi, Korngold, Bach, Mozart, Sarasate, Ravel and Dvorak. Highlights of his chamber music career include performances with the Ying Quartet, the Audubon Quartet, and New York City premiere of composer Steve Mackey's Troubadour Songs. Mr. Irvin made his European debut at the Heidelberg Schlossfestspiele, where he was principal violin in the festival orchestra and was featured on the chamber concert series. Before moving to Arkansas, he was principal violin in the Arizona Opera Orchestra. Currently Mr. Irvin lives in Little Rock, where he has the Dora Paley Ronnel Concertmaster Chair of the Arkansas Symphony Orchestra. He plays a 1765 Gagliano violin.

Pianist Julie Cheek, a native of Little Rock, Arkansas, made her professional debut at the age of 14 as soloist with the Arkansas Symphony Chamber Orchestra. She has been a featured artist many times since then, not only with the Arkansas Symphony, but with renowned symphony orchestras throughout the United States. Her appeal as a solo classical recitalist, often coupled with master classes, is widespread across America and Europe. Dr. Cheek is noted for her lyrical expressiveness as well as precision at the piano. She is equally articulate with audiences in explaining music in a relaxed, yet informative manner. For fourteen years, she has been a favorite entertainer on Silversea, Crystal and Radisson Cruise lines. Her travels have taken her all over the world.
