I love creating new things any chance I get. I never try to limit myself to just paint on canvas. I see art in everything, as well as, in every situation. If I have the ability to do something by myself, and it requires a certain technique or challenge, I will take it on without a doubt. Sometimes I find myself building canvases with no idea of what they will eventually become. I normally have four or five blank canvases at a time; they seem to stare at me and challenge my creativity. Something intrigues me about a blank canvas in the same way a writer is intrigued about a blank piece of paper. It’s simultaneously scary and exciting to know that you can create a masterpiece out of a couple of pieces of wood, some duck cotton and a great idea. I fear ever settling on one type of media because I believe that would limit my creativity. I fear every brushstroke, but I believe that intimidation of being average is what compels me to do what I do and makes my work better each and every time.
