After a 30+ year career in education, Susan discovered the artist within! She is a former president of the Conway League of Artists. Her work has been shown in several Conway galleries, Carmen's Antiques and Art on the Green. She now resides in North Little Rock and has a studio that overlooks the Arkansas River. She gains inspiration from working alongside other potters at the Arkansas Museum of Fine Arts and at the North Little Rock Innovation Hub. She is proficient at both hand-building and wheel throwing. She has dabbled in painting watercolors and oils but now prefers to create using acrylics. She enjoys finding inspiration in nature, preferring a looser style and natural colors. She is now exploring using underglazes in order to combine aspects of drawing with hand building. She is always looking to experiment and try a new technique, from raku firing to horsehair pottery.
