I have an academic approach to my portraiture painting which includes several steps. My goal is to use the "Old Master's Technique" of first drawing the
subject, then painting an under-painting in "Verdaccio" and finally completing the painting using oils and glazes.
I try to keep my edges soft and my brushwork to a minimum. I like the use of light and dark to create drama in my work while trying to capture the
personality and souls with accurate drawing and painting.
