My earliest recollection of my Art interest when I was a child in elementary school in Japan Creating Paper Mache sculptured animals and a second place in Ikebana design My passion for art continued through the years as it earned a BFA from Henderson State University I am Passionate about the mixed media with emphases in Watercolor Acrylics Batiks and fiber art art quilts

I created the piece titled Cranial Explosion and it evolved as I was studying and researching Abstract Art When I found Robert Rauschenbergs work
around 1969 for two weeks every day I played with marks strokes and lines in black and white paint These practices passionately meditatively and spiritually embraced my new found Abstract expression

I was born in the District of Columbia into a military family Traveling overseas
we lived in Japan as well as Libya North Africa My Fathers retirement settled us in Arkansas Crossett is where I finished high school then to college where a degree in art came from Henderson State University

Currently I live in Russellville This is my home where I have resided since 1981
I am retired from 30 plus years in the medical surgical fieldAfter that my open mind and passion for art flourished and I started taking watercolor lessons
I showed my paintings in an eclectic little gallery called A Conversation Piece in downtown Russellville

Supporting the River Valley Arts Center my paintings have been displayed in several venues throughout the River Valley

My studio is my kitchen table This where I sketch draw and paint I have found a new passion directive through abstract art finding the love with aesthetics by making marks strokes and textures This has allowed a new directive toward cold wax and oil medium
