I'm Nathan Cook, a self-taught artist and current student at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock (UALR). My journey began with oil on canvas, and over two decades, my passion for art has been nurtured within a family of artists. A close friend's novel inspired me to sketch characters, reigniting my dedication to art. This led to a two-year period of intense artistic study, my "Finding My Voice" phase, influenced by artists like Francis Bacon, Lucian Freud, and Vincent van Gogh. My work aims to encapsulate depth and emotion. Music has been a significant influence on my creativity. My past experiences playing various instruments have shaped my artistic expression. I started exploring different mediums, including charcoal, pastel, and graphite. During this exploration, I discovered Russell Mills' work. His intricate techniques and use of various mediums, including digital tools, captivated me and shaped my current style.
