This holiday themed workshop conducted by HAM volunteer Sally Saunders and staff member Amy Armstrong, was inspired by our recent exhibit Piecing with Purpose. A traditional foundation paper pieced quilt technique will be used to sew blocks (using shared sewing machines) which can be made into ornaments, coasters or left as unfinished blocks.
Fabrics in colors and designs representing Christmas, Chanukah and Kwanza will be provided as well as all supplies and finishing materials. Participants should have sufficient time to complete and finish two blocks. A reproducible template will be included which can be used to create additional blocks.
Contributions and proceeds from this event got to the Historic Arkansas Museum Foundation. The Foundation exists to support Historic Arkansas Museum through activities that foster history and cultural education.
