Through the creation of art, I make a human attempt to engage with the Wonders of the Universe and Eternal Truth. The vast nuances in the creation of a curved line, the burnout smell of earth metals in a fire, the surrender to the limitations and possibilities inherent in materials:these are the phenomenological aspects of art.The studio experience makes me humble, yet my work is displayed in public because I know my creative voice is valuable.
Influences on my work include living on 4 continents during my art teaching career, travel, and nature.I am interested in a variety of subjects, especially as they relate to changes in climate, cultures, and migration.
