Since 2016 I have been on a journey to use my garden as my principal subject matter. "Nature's Best Hope" by Doug Tallamy has been my guide to re-wilding my garden by planting natives to attract and support birds, insects and pollinators. The garden begins to change as native plants go to seed and spread. By letting the grass grow, the ground becomes a seed bank producing new plants. A new, somewhat chaotic aesthetic emerges as the purpose of the garden changes from a prescribed "beauty" to a home for living things. Using color and space, I create a transcendent image of my garden.
