Inspiration of my art comes from many backgrounds, either from a poem by Alfred Lord Tennyson in 1882, a well known opera play, to well known figures in life.
Capturing the intimate detail in an expression of a character, brings that character to life, I achieve self-gratification in developing that creation.
Working with earthenware clay, ,firing to 06, applying a white patina to the casting in my portraits, to working in oil base clay for modeling and finally casting in marble powder and resin for my smaller high relief wall sculptures.
I approach all my works with first an idea of what I want to achieve, then achieve that idea through my hands and finally to romance in the achievement of that idea coming to life.
In conclusion, inspiration comes from the nourishment within ones self to develop a gratification to create through ones hands and heart a sculpture to be proud of.
