In my evolution as an artist, I have continued to use design as a major influence in the development of my work. My interest in graphic design has influenced me to increasingly develop my own style and technique. I have worked mostly with two-dimensional art, but I have also increased my knowledge and skills using the computer to create two and three-dimensional artwork. In my pursuit to further my education after high school, I chose to focus on studio art as a major to gain an understanding of different mediums. In my early years of working with Art, I focused on just drawing instead of branching out and working with multiple mediums. By majoring in Studio Art, I was able to study the history and processes of drawing, painting, ceramics sculpture, and printmaking. My introductory art classes have helped me to learned about the basic elements of art and design that I will use in these mediums. Relief printmaking was the best medium for which I could further develop my technique using the design forms of linear objects, line and perspective.

My work is focused on causing the viewers to perceive an object as three-dimensional on a two dimensional surface. My goal is to make the image stand out from the background as if jumping out from the wall and for the viewer’s eyes to see the images move. My printmaking designs have been influenced by the works of Albrecht Dürer, Kadir Nelson and M.C. Escher. These artists influenced my style and creativity in creating images using linear objects, line and perspective.
