Pianist Neil Rutman offers Arkansas enthralling live keyboard concerts, with a wide range of styles and repertoire. The Arkansas Democrat Gazette has written, "Hats off, gentleman, a genius!” and the New York Times stated, “he won the audience over for himself with exquisite performances both commanding and full of character.” See his youtube video of Beethoven (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gGdFq2xJgag) and jazz works of Duke Ellington (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TlXtsyOr2b8).
Trained at the Eastman School of Music and the Peabody Conservatory, Mr. Rutman is also an amateur boxer who coaches the UCA Boxing Club and mentors ‘at risk’ youth in the Juvenile Court. As a devoted teacher at UCA, Neil Rutman’s piano students have received top prizes in numerous competitions, including the East West Artist Auditions in New York City, the Clara Wells International Competition, and the MTNA.
Mr. Rutman has recorded for many labels, garnering special praise for his Chopin CD on the Pro Musica label and his all Poulenc CD with Emmy Award winning actor Tony Randall providing the narration for “The Story of Babar the Little Elephant.” His arrangements of ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ and ‘Arkansas Traveler’ are specialties on any program.
Expect an intensely classical or mixed jazz and classical evening of entertainment with Neil Rutman.
