Independence Day at Historic Washington State Park
From 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. on July 4th, Historic Washington State Park will be hosting their annual Independence Day celebration on the lawn of the 1874 Courthouse.
Enjoy historical games, make a patriotic candle at the Candle Shop, and learn about some of the major news headlines in 19th-century Washington. Afterwards, enjoy a traditional Independence Day home-cooked meal for lunch at Williams Tavern Restaurant.
On Friday, July 4 to Sunday, July 6, hear the Declaration of Independence read, as was commonly done in the 19th century, at the Courthouse. Afterwards, sign your own "John Hancock" to a copy of the Declaration that you may take home. The readings will take place at 10:30 a.m., 1:30 p.m. and 3:30 p.m.
