Commissioner Speaks to Students
On Tuesday, May 12, Arkansas250 Commissioner Tanya Mims spoke with the middle school Gifted and Talented students at Fayetteville Public Schools in collaboration with Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art.
The students participated in an America 250 art project, where they each created individual squares containing one unique symbol, key idea, person, or event that has shaped American history. The squares were then assembled into an American flag.
Commissioner Mims spoke about building a strong sense of pride as an Arkansan. She has served as a guest speaker for the “Stars, Stripes, and Student Spirit” ACA250 event at each of Fayetteville’s middle schools.
