On Sunday, Dec. 7, the Old State House Museum, Historic Arkansas Museum,
and Mosaic Templars Cultural Center will host their annual Holiday Open
Houses. Visitors can participate in historic crafts and music, eat
holiday treats, and get a picture with Santa Claus! All events are free
to attend.
Historic Arkansas Museum, 12 – 4 p.m.
It’s the 58th annual Frolic on their historic grounds of Historic
Arkansas Museum. Visitors can make Springerle ornaments, Kwanzaa crafts,
holiday cards, pomander balls, Chinese paper poppers, and participating
in candle dipping. There will also be woodworking demonstrations,
textile demonstrations, and cooking demonstrations. Hot cider and
gingerbread cookies will be served. Visitors can also hear musical
artists Sugar on the Floor, Lark in the Morning, Ricky Russell, Arkansas
Country Dance, Aeolus Recorder Group, and S. Juain Young & Artists
United. Father Christmas will do a reading of “The Night Before
Christmas.”
Mosaic Templars Cultural Center, 1 – 5 p.m.
Mosaic Templars Cultural Center will host their annual Holiday Open
House with festive music and hot chocolate. Children will be able to
make crafts and get a picture with Santa Claus! MTCC will also have
their first Arkansas Made Black Crafted Christmas Market.
Old State House Museum, 12 – 4 p.m.
The Old State House Museum will host their annual Holiday Open House
from 1-5 p.m. and will feature craft activities, sweet and savory
holiday treats, and holiday music. Be sure to take a photo with the
Christmas tree in the lobby!
