Now in its 39th year, Small Works on Paper is a juried visual art exhibition that showcases artwork from Arkansas artists. The artwork can be no larger than 18-by-24 inches. This year’s exhibition, which opens to the public Jan. 5, features 40 pieces of artwork by 40 Arkansas artists. Guests have the opportunity to view the works in the Altheimer Gallery from 10 a.m.to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday through Monday, Jan. 26. The exhibition will move Feb. 2 to Arkansas Tech University in Russellville.
This year’s submissions to the 2026 Small Works on Paper program were juried by Kelli Scott Kelley, an artist and professor of painting at Louisiana State University. Originally from Baton Rouge, Kelley earned her master's degree at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. Her mixed-media narrative paintings and drawings have been widely exhibited, including her acclaimed traveling exhibit Accalia and the Swamp Monster (2014), which was also published as a book.
