Artists often transfer objects in their lives into their art. Influences come from family, friends, and surroundings, and all play a part in the act of creation. My art career has taken several turns. My high school had no art program so my mother enrolled me in life drawing at John Herron Art Institute in Indianapolis. After my first year, I received a scholarship to John Herron. My major of commercial art helped me make a living with my talent. After graduation, I spent 12 years as a fashion illustrator for various department stores in Indiana, Arizona, and New England. Those years developed my foundation in drawing and taught me to meet deadlines. The focus of my work is exhibiting original images. My excitement is the discovery of new and exciting places or objects to represent with my own interpretation.
