The Delta Cultural Center will host the 160th Anniversary Reenactment of the the Battle of Helena on April 14 - 16, 2023. Plans call for a Civil War School Days Event at Cherry Street Pavilion in Helena from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. on April 14, 2023.  A battle reenactment will then take place on April 15 at 2 p.m. Another reenactment battle will also take place on April 16 at 1 p.m.  Camps are open to visitors form 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and this event is free for visitors.  The Battle of Helena, which was fought on July 4, 1863, was one of the largest and most important events in Arkansas during the American Civil War. Please follow our social media and website for further information on participating in this event or being a spectator. We look forward to seeing you in Helena. Special guests at the event will be world famous musician Bobby Horton and Dr. E.C. Fields, who will be portraying U.S. Grant.
