Mission
The mission of the Department of Arkansas Heritage is to identify Arkansas’s heritage and enhance the quality of life by the discovery, preservation, and presentation of the state’s cultural, historic and natural resources.
About
The Department of Arkansas Heritage was created in 1975 to preserve and promote Arkansas’s heritage as a source of pride and enjoyment for all. It consists of seven divisions, that is, four museums and three heritage resource agencies, each providing Arkansas information resources and unique contributions to the preservation and promotion of Arkansas heritage.

Arkansas Historic Preservation Program
Mission
The Arkansas Historic Preservation Program is responsible for identifying, evaluating, surveying, registering and preserving the state’s historic and cultural resources.

Arkansas Natural Heritage Commission
Mission
The mission of the Natural Heritage Commission is to preserve natural diversity, to promote choice among beneficial uses of the environment,
and to promote a balance between the development and environmental protection of the State for this and succeeding generations.
Location
The Arkansas Natural Heritage Commission (ANHC) was established in 1973 to identify and protect the state’s remaining high-quality natural communities. To protect the “best of the last,” ANHC manages a system of more than fifty Natural Areas and maintains data on the status of rare species and natural communities.

Delta Cultural Center
About
It is the mission of the Delta Cultural Center to preserve, research, document, interpret, and present the heritage of the Arkansas Delta. The DCC is composed of the Depot and the Visitors Center. The museum also has several other properties, including the historic Moore-Hornor House, Beth El Heritage Hall and the new Cherry Street Pavilion.

Historic Arkansas Museum
About
The mission of the Historic Arkansas Museum is to communicate the early history of Arkansas and its creative legacy through preserving, interpreting, and presenting stories and collections for the education and enjoyment of the people we serve. With four historic houses on their original sites and the premier collection of Arkansas-made decorative arts, the museum chronicles the social and political history of Arkansas in the 19th century.

Mosaic Templars Cultural Center
About
The mission of the Mosaic Templars Cultural Center is to collect, preserve, interpret and celebrate Arkansas's African American History, culture and community from 1870 to the present, and to inform and educate the public about black achievement – especially in business, politics and the arts. hrough special events, education programs, ongoing research and exhibits such as the Arkansas Black Hall of Fame, the museum celebrates Arkansas’s African American heritage. Tours of the museum provide a detailed look at the history of African Americans in Little Rock and Arkansas.

Old State House Museum
Mission
The mission of the Old State House Museum Collection Department is to identify, collect, preserve, interpret, and disseminate materials and information pertaining to the history of Arkansas from statehood in 1836 until the present. The Old State House is home to a world-class collection that includes Arkansas politicial memorabilia, Charles Thompson architectural drawings, Arkansas art pottery, Arkansas First Ladies' gowns, quilts by Black Arkansans and Confederate battle flags. Popular events include lawn concerts, Civil War reenactments, and classes for children and adults.
