'Come to the Table' at Historic Arkansas Museum's Candlelight Gala

This year, Historic Arkansas Museum’s biennial Candlelight Gala invites patrons to “Come to the Table” Nov. 4 and celebrate Arkansas foodways – the intersection of food in the culture and tradition of Arkansas – from the Delta to the foothills of the Ozarks. The event will kick off the museum’s yearlong celebration of Arkansas’s food heritage.

At the Gala, guests will experience a spectacular evening on the museum’s grounds that will feature the food, libations, and music of traditional and contemporary Arkansas. The evening will premiere a short film highlighting the recent inaugural inductees to the Department of Arkansas Heritage Arkansas Food Hall of Fame. Silent and live auctions will feature Arkansas Made art and crafts, as well as unique dining and travel experiences.

This year's Gala will feature winners of the Department of Arkansas Heritage 2017 Food Hall of Fame:

  • Jones Bar-B-Q Diner (Marianna)
  • Lassis Inn (Little Rock)
  • Rhoda’s Famous Hot Tamales (Lake Village)
  • plus a delicious heritage meal by 2017 Diamond chef Mary Beth Ringgold of Copper Grill (Little Rock).

Throughout the evening, guests will be treated to:

  • Arkansas folk music by Sugar on the Floor
  • Arkansas Delta blues music by Danny Dozier and Hal Vandive
  • and a curated anthology of Arkansas music through the years. 

The Candlelight Gala will be a special night for friends, families and colleagues who value Arkansas heritage, history and arts. Proceeds will empower Historic Arkansas Museum to continue protecting and preserving our Arkansas heritage. Tickets are available here.
