Visit with us in January to learn how people handled the cold winter months in 1849 Arkansas and find out the big news everyone is talking about. Experience how tradespeople and families occupied their time during the dark days of winter, and how preserved foods are made into winter meals. You’ll hear how residents—despite the cold and darkness—hoped for the golden days of spring with planting crops and fortunes to be made in the gold fields of California.
