Make your stories come alive! Join history buff, writer and researcher Brian Irby to discover how to find accurate information for your memoir or historical fiction masterpiece.

Fiction and memoir are similar in that they both use facts and real events. Discover how to validate your memories for your nonfiction or delve into historical facts to make your fiction believable. Learn how best to find your family’s history, create realistic settings, and mine for nuggets from the past that set your work apart. Irby will walk writers through the process of finding, accessing and mining historical records – from how to trace your roots to how to set the scene for everyday life in territorial Arkansas.
This workshop will be Tuesday, Dec. 6, 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Arkansas State Archives, located at One Capitol Mall, suite 2B in Little Rock. It will also be presented via Zoom.
