Artist INC Express is a 3-day intensive workshop created to address the specific business needs and challenges artists of all disciplines face every day.

Building upon Artist INC’s experience working with hundreds of artists in the Midwest region through its core Artist INC Live seminar, Artist INC Express was designed to focus participants on learning the most essential skills in the shortest amount of time.

Mid-America Arts Alliance, in partnership with the Arkansas Arts Council, will present a workshop centering the BIPOC artists and communities, and uplifting BIPOC voices. Led by BIPOC professional artist facilitators, the workshop is highly interactive and includes activities and discussions focused on goal setting, writing about your work, and building a personal brand – the building blocks for a sustainable art practice and a successful arts business. Artist INC Express immediately activates a network of artists in their community leading to additional peer to peer resource sharing and support long after the workshop concludes.

The workshop is free to all Arkansas creative workers, with priority given to artists who identify as BIPOC. Registration is required.

Workshop Facilitators: The Artist INC Express workshop is led by three of Artist INC’s peer facilitators.

Workshop Platform: Our live online workshop will be delivered via Zoom. Workshop participants have the opportunity to interact with the facilitators and other artists, engage in live discussions and activities. Once you’ve registered, you’ll receive instructions about log in information and links to the workshop.

To take this workshop, you need a microphone and camera enabled computer OR an IPad /smart tablet OR a smart phone (android or IOS) and a strong internet connection.

Workshop Dates:

Friday, May 13, 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM

Saturday, May 14, 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM

Sunday, May 15, 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM

** By registering for this workshop, you are committing to all three sessions of the workshop.

Program Fees: There is no cost to attend the workshop. Once you registered, plan to attend all three days of the workshop. Because seats are limited (20), if you don't plan to attend or have to cancel, please notify us in advance so we can open up the seat to artists on the wait list!

*Please be mindful that each participant will be taking up a seat that would otherwise benefit another artist. The cost of the program is $200 per participant; in response to the current pandemic and the financial strain to many family and artists, we are waiving the cost for participants. Once again, seats are limited - registered only if you are fully committed to attend.

Registration Deadline and Requirements:

PRIORITY REGISTRATION ends Sunday, May 8 at midnight. You will receive an Artist INC Care Package and the Artist INC Express Workbook in the mail if you signed by before the Priority Registration Deadline. After priority registration, participants will receive a digital PDF version of the Artist INC Express Workbook via email.

Participants must be at least 18 years old. Participants must complete the Eventbrite form and answer the narrative questions.
