When we think of the Civil War, many of us think of battles. However, the surgeons form both sides played an important role in saving lives during and after those battles. Meet Daniel Cockrell, adult education/living history coordinator from the Old State House Museum at the Miller Annex, located at 223 Cherry Street in Helena, Arkansas, as he discusses the common practices of a Civil War era surgeon. He will also have examples of equipment that a surgeon from then would have used.
