July 9th - Green Book Sites, Hot Springs; Sandwiching in History Tours will continue to be virtual this year with a line up of unique sites from around our state. These tours premiere on Facebook the first Friday* of each month at noon and are archived on our YouTube channel.
The Green Book was first published in 1936, by Hugo Victor Green of New York City. It became an influential annual publication that helped traveling African Americans by providing information on businesses that were safe to patronize during the long period of racial segregation and discrimination across the United States in the 20th century. Join us as we explore sites associated with the Green Book in Hot Springs, Arkansas.
