The Arkansas Women’s Suffrage Centennial Commemoration Committee invites all qualified speakers on the topics of such related history, political or social, to submit a brief proposal to join the Committee’s Speakers Bureau. Please include your specific topic of expertise or interest and your current place of employment.

Upcoming Events 

“Imagery and Irony: The Fight for Women's Suffrage Through the Political Cartoons of Nina Allender.” This exhibit is at the MacArthur Museum of Arkansas Military History will remain on display until December 2020. 


“Shall Not Be Denied! Celebrating 100 Years of Women’s Right to Vote” The UCA College of Fine Arts and Communication is hosting the following suffrage celebration activities commemorating the 100-year anniversary of the passage of the 19th Amendment. Public activities will take place on the UCA campus in Conway and at Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art in Bentonville, AR. Multidisciplinary activities will happen on and around two new site-specific public art installations located in UCA’s historic Alumni Circle:

August 26: UCA Baum Gallery will open its Suffrage Centennial Exhibit, Threads Through Time. (Aug. 26-Oct. 15). The exhibit will run from August 26 - October 15 and open to visitors with timed tickets (masks required) and will have a virtual component.

September 16: Suffrage Concert curated by Linda Hsu, UCA Reynolds Performance Hall at 7:30pm.

October 5: Installation of Shag Pools by Sharon Louden, UCA Alumni Circle.

October 10 (tentative date): Installation of Ceramic Floor Mosaic by Liz Smith and community collaborators, UCA Alumni Circle.

October 12-24 (specific dates TBD): Performances at the Shag Pools, UCA Alumni Circle • Core Dance event, Nevertheless She Persisted• Writeous Poets spoken word performance • Suffrage Sing-Along • Persona Poetry

October 12-24 (specific dates TBD): Performances at Crystal Bridges, Core Dance in collaboration with the Writeous Poets
