Small Museum Grant Workshop & Panel Discussion Set for March 9

Grant application deadline is April 18

The Department of Arkansas Heritage (DAH) will host a panel and grant workshop on small museum management and resources on Friday, March 9, 2 – 4 p.m., in DAH’s Diamond Room at 1100 North Street, Little Rock.

The workshop will cover DAH’s new small museum grant application process. Grants of up to $2,500 are available to Arkansas’s small history museums, historical societies, historic sites and military museums that have an annual operating budget of $250,000 or less. The workshop will be led by DAH Grants Manager Debra Fithen, who will review grant guidelines and the new online application process.

A panel of DAH division directors will share their experience and expertise regarding museum and historical resource management issues.

The panelists include:

  • Christina Shutt - Mosaic Templars Cultural Center
  • Swannee Bennett - Historic Arkansas Museum
  • Bill Gatewood - Old State House Museum
  • Kyle Miller - Delta Cultural Center
  • Scott Kaufman - Arkansas Historic Preservation Program

The event is free and open to the public, but guests must register by Wednesday, March 7, online or by calling (501) 324-9150. Guests may attend in person or by conference call.
